The ostriches were pretty hilarious, one pecked our windows when we rolled them up after he tried to stick entire head in the car! My five year old son got a kick out of this. We saw every animal listed on the map and many came right to our windows. The weather was cooler, low 60s, and the animals were active.
We arrived at about 9:15 and I would definitely recommend being early, as we were one of the first cars to drive thru. Not all animals will eat It, but many do. We did buy animal food and I would say 1-2 bags is definitely worth It. We decided to go to the safari during our stay in hill country and I’m so glad we did. After a couple of spins through the ranch, stop at Safari Camp Grill for a burger, get dessert at Safari Sweet Shop and purchase some souvenirs at Safari Trading Post.
